Actor Hong Min-gi is reported to have skipped the wrap-up party for Season 2 of his drama "Study Group" amid controversy over allegations involving his private life with an ex-girlfriend.

According to entertainment industry sources on the 20th, Hong Min-gi did not attend the wrap-up party for TVING original series "Study Group 2," which took place on the 19th.

"Study Group" is a comedic high school action series about Yoon Ga-min (played by Hwang Min-hyun), who excels in academics but has all his talents focused on fighting, as he joins a study group while facing intense competition at a notoriously unruly school. Season 1 was released last January, and Season 2 is scheduled for release in the second half of this year. Hong Min-gi portrayed Park Geon-yeop, a first-year student at Yuseong High School, and is reported to have recently completed filming for Season 2.

Hong Min-gi's absence from the wrap-up party is interpreted as a consequence of the private life allegations. Previously, a woman claiming to be his ex-girlfriend, identified as A, publicly released a formal notice sent to Hong's agency, Fable Company, raising accusations including dating violence and pressuring him into an abortion.

Additionally, A revealed past claims that Hong had insulted women and fans, used profanity toward fellow actors and staff, and showed signs of abusing his pet dog.

In response, the agency stated, "The two began dating in April but have since broken up," adding, "A has persistently contacted Hong, demanding they reunite. She repeatedly visited his home without his consent, even going so far as to show up at his family's residence." Regarding the allegations, the agency denied them, stating, "Many claims contradict the facts we have confirmed."

The agency further announced, "We will do our utmost to clarify the facts through objective evidence and due legal process," signaling potential legal action.
