YouTuber Park Wi was embroiled in controversy after accusing a public service worker assigned to assist him of causing a fall accident while he was using KTX. In response, calls are growing for Seoul City to dismiss Park Wi from his role as an ambassador.

On the 25th, one netizen reported, "I spoke with the official in charge of the Seoul City Public Relations Office this afternoon. They explained that complaints regarding Park Wi as an ambassador had been filed previously, and additional complaints were confirmed today. Seoul City is not treating this matter lightly and is currently reviewing it."

The same netizen stated, "Regarding the controversy over the release of CCTV footage from Park Wi's KTX fall accident, I submitted a formal complaint to the National Citizen Portal on the 25th, requesting that Seoul Special City officially review whether there are grounds for dismissing Park Wi as an ambassador and assess his suitability for the role."

He further explained, "This complaint does not demand immediate dismissal. Rather, it seeks an official determination by Seoul City on whether Park Wi can appropriately fulfill his duties as an ambassador under the current 'Ordinance on the Operation of Seoul Special City Ambassadors,' in light of the controversy surrounding the release of CCTV footage from the KTX fall accident, and requests a formal response with supporting grounds."

Seoul City announced on June 17, 2025, that it had appointed Park Wi as a new ambassador, expecting him to persuasively convey Seoul's barrier-free environment, welfare policies, and youth policies based on his personal experiences, and to carry out activities that allow people to "feel the inclusive city of Seoul." New ambassadors were also tasked with conveying the value of "walking alongside Seoul's policies" based on their respective expertise and public influence. Park Wi's term as an ambassador is two years.

Park Wi experienced a fall accident on the 14th while disembarking from KTX in a wheelchair, when his wheel got caught on the foot of a social service worker assisting him on the ramp. On the 21st, he released CCTV footage from the incident, raising concerns about safety accidents involving wheelchair users and the need to improve mobility environments. As criticism spread over his method of release, he deleted the video and apologized, stating that he had not sufficiently considered the efforts made by the worker who tried to help him and who apologized on-site, and that his own delivery method was immature.

Following the controversy, the '2026 Seoul Youth Policy Network Insight Lecture,' originally scheduled for the 27th at the multi-purpose hall on the 8th floor of Seoul City Hall, was canceled. The Seoul Youth Policy Network announced, "After comprehensively considering the purpose and operational direction of the event, we have decided not to proceed with it." Park Wi had been invited to deliver a lecture in his capacity as an ambassador of Seoul Special City. On the 28th, the 'We Miracle Park Wi Talk Concert,' a barrier-free performance scheduled by the Gangnam Culture Foundation, was also canceled.
