Musical actress Kim Sun-young has suffered the loss of her father.

Kim Sun-young's father passed away on the 30th at the age of 81.

Kim Woo-hyung, Kim Sun-young's husband and a musical actor, announced the news of his father-in-law's passing through his personal account. He added, "The wake is in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do. Since it would be inconvenient for those traveling far, we will hold a private family funeral. Please keep us in your prayers."

Kim Sun-young and Kim Woo-hyung are reported to have taken turns standing vigil at the wake. The funeral procession for Kim Sun-young's father is scheduled to take place on September 1.

Following the loss of her father, casting schedules for Kim Sun-young in the currently running musical "Dear Evan Hansen" have also been changed. The production company stated via its official account, "Due to actress Kim Sun-young's personal circumstances (father's passing), the casting schedule must be unavoidably adjusted."

Kim Sun-young married musical actor Kim Woo-hyung, who is seven years her junior, in 2012 and they have a son.
