Actor and late An Jae-hwan passed away 18 years ago.

Late An Jae-hwan was found dead in a car in a residential area of Nowon-gu, Seoul, on September 8, 2008. He was 36 years old at the time of his death.

At the scene, a suicide note was discovered, and police concluded their investigation, determining that the deceased had taken his own life due to struggles with private loans.

An Jae-hwan debuted as an MBC public casting talent in 1996 and appeared in numerous works including dramas such as "Mom, My Sister," "Beautiful Temptation," and "Secret Men and Women," as well as the sitcom "Live Straight."

His wife and comedian Jeong Seon-hee endured difficult times filled with various rumors after suddenly losing her husband just 10 months into their marriage. Although she married An Jae-hwan in 2007, he passed away about a year later, leaving her widowed.

Recently, she also expressed the pain of losing her spouse. Appearing on the YouTube channel "Lee Sung-mi's Can't Go" on the 7th, she said, "I felt like I had reached my end in South Korea. Too many people used the expression 'you ate him.' This was such a deep wound—it hurt not only me but also my family. It is a scarlet letter and a yoke that has followed me for my entire life."

She added, "Still, I am grateful because he was a comedian; it was thanks to his colleagues that I had moments of relief. I couldn't maintain the posture of grief. In the comedy world, even discussing misfortune is difficult because everyone is suffering." She then smiled and said, "There are still people who curse at me, but there are also many more who do not."
