Fencing national team veteran Kim Jun-ho recalled the dizzying moment he was swept up by a tornado just before his final world championship prior to retirement.

On the 8th, KBS 1TV's "Morning Stage" featured commentator Park Yong-taek, Kim Yo-han, Ki Bo-bae, and Kim Jun-ho in its segment "With the Famous Person."

That day, Kim Jun-ho said, "The last world championship before my retirement is what I remember most. It was an opportunity for me to achieve five consecutive titles, which would have been a first-ever record in Asia. I prepared with the intention of ending my career on a high note."

However, he experienced an unexpected accident just before the tournament. Kim Jun-ho recalled, "I encountered a tornado at that time. It was on my way back to the hotel after training. Usually, they drop me off in front of the hotel, but I got caught in the tornado during that brief moment while walking to the lobby."

The broadcast also aired footage showing Kim Jun-ho being swept away by strong winds. He said, "I kept flying through the air until I saw a net. If that net hadn't been there, I wouldn't be here today," recalling the terrifying moment.

He revealed that he suffered a leg injury from the accident: "I collided with something and injured my leg. As a result, I had to withdraw from the individual event and only competed in the team event."

Continuing, he added, "We won a silver medal in the team final, but I felt guilty, as if it was all because of me," expressing his lingering regret over that time.
