Cosmic Girls member Seola (32, real name Kim Hyun-jeong) sparked controversy by leaving Starship Entertainment after 15 years and posting a letter utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), for which she later apologized.

On the 18th, Seola posted on her Instagram: "I apologize for my handwritten letter being uneven and difficult to read, with poor conveyance of meaning; I now realize it was short-sighted to post it for better readability."

She bowed her head, saying, "From now on, I will be more cautious about everything. I am sorry."

Earlier, on the 17th, Seola announced her departure from Starship Entertainment, with whom she had been together since debut for 15 years, and shared a lengthy handwritten letter.

However, the letter contained numerous typos such as '엔터테인면(먼)트' (entertain-ment) and '배윰(움)' (paying attention), leading to growing criticism that it was AI-generated and lacked sincerity.

Ultimately, Seola deleted the post and reposted what appeared to be her actual handwritten letter, taking direct responsibility with a personal apology to quell the controversy.

Seola debuted as a member of Cosmic Girls in 2016.
