SEVENTEEN’s main vocal duo DK and Seungkwan have reached the top of music charts with their classic ballad new song, “Blue.”

According to HYBE MUSIC GROUP label PLEDIS Entertainment on the 19th, the title track “Blue” from DK and Seungkwan’s first mini album ranked No.1 on YouTube Korea’s “Trending Music” chart at 9 p.m. on the 18th. After debuting at No.27 on the same chart on the 13th, the song steadily climbed the rankings, reached No.2 on the 15th, and ultimately claimed the top spot. Album tracks “Rockstar (DK Solo)” (No.28) and “Guilty Pleasure” (No.30) also entered the chart.

The popularity of “Blue” is attributed to strong word-of-mouth generated by recent music show performances and vocal challenge content featuring DK and Seungkwan. Beginning with Mnet’s “M Countdown” on the 15th, the duo appeared on KBS2’s “Music Bank” and “The Seasons – 10CM’s Soft Touch,” MBC’s “Show! Music Core,” and SBS’s “Inkigayo,” delivering powerful live stages of “Blue.”

Captivating K-pop fans with their outstanding vocal skills and deeply emotional delivery, DK and Seungkwan also showcased their versatility by unveiling the first-ever stage of the alluring B-side “Guilty Pleasure” on The Seasons – 10CM’s Soft Touch. Vocal challenges featuring renowned singers—including Davichi, Lee Mujin, Younha, RIIZE’s Sohee, and Gummy—have also drawn significant attention. Artists from various genres such as Ha Hyun-sang, 10CM, Daybreak, WJSN’s Yeonjung, SOLE, george, and MAMAMOO’s Solar have joined the challenge, reinterpreting “Blue” in their own styles. A duet challenge allowing fans to harmonize with DK and Seungkwan has also spread rapidly.

Driven by this momentum, “Blue” ranked No.1 on Instagram’s “Trending Audio” chart on the 17th. On the 19th, DK and Seungkwan will release an epilogue version music video for “Blue.” A teaser released the previous day heightened anticipation, featuring the snowy landscapes of Hokkaido, Japan, along with the members’ poignant emotional acting. The cinematic version of the music video, starring Lee Yoo-mi and Noh Sang-hyun, continues to receive love, having charted on YouTube Korea’s “Weekly Popular Music Videos” (January 9–15).

Fans can also experience the new release in an analog format. According to PLEDIS Entertainment, the LP (vinyl) edition of “Soyagok” will be released on March 16. The album achieved half-million seller status on its release day with over 520,000 copies sold, an unusual feat for a K-pop unit album, and also topped the Worldwide iTunes Album chart.
