Girl group A2O MAY has added another rookie award at a major Chinese ceremony, becoming a four-time winner of global rookie awards.

According to A2O Entertainment on the 19th, A2O MAY (CHENYU, SHIJIE, QUCHANG, MICHE, and KAT) won the “Music Finance × Weibo NaYun – Annual Emerging Musician” award, a rookie category, at the 2025–2026 Music Business Industry Awards (MBIA) held in Beijing, China, on the 17th.

Through their agency, the group shared their acceptance speech, saying, “It is a great honor to receive this award. We sincerely thank Lee Soo-man and all the staff at A2O. This is our first award of the year and an honor achieved together with our fans, MAYnia. We are grateful to everyone who has supported and watched over us, and we will keep moving forward while holding your encouragement close to our hearts.” They added, “At this new starting point in the new year, we will continue to work hard, grow, and repay you with even better music.”

The MBIA is hosted by Music Business China (音乐财经), a leading Chinese music industry and business publication, and co-organized with Weibo Music’s NaYun Project. With this win, A2O MAY has once again proven themselves as a rising artist gaining attention not only in China but also in the global market.

This award marks A2O MAY’s fourth global rookie honor. Previously, they won Rookie Group of the Year at the Weibo Music Awards 2025, the New Artist Award at the 2025 Asian Hall of Fame, and the NaYun Rookie Group of the Year at Weibo’s Night of Competition.

Last year, A2O MAY made their presence known in the global music scene with releases such as “BOSS,” “B.B.B (Bigger Badder Better),” and their first EP “PAPARAZZI ARRIVE.” Notably, “PAPARAZZI ARRIVE” ranked No.1 on Mediabase’s Top 40 Airplay “Most Added” weekly chart, tying with Justin Bieber.

The group has continued its global activities by performing at the official pre-show of the U.S. year-end event Jingle Ball, titled “Jingle Ball Preshow: Z100 – All Access Lounge Stage,” and by successfully holding their first fan meeting, “MAYnia Arrive,” in Shanghai, China.
