The Professional Dancer Support Center held a kick-off report meeting for the '2026 Survey on Professional Dancers' on May 29 and will officially begin the survey research to reflect the changing dance art environment and on-site demands.

This survey, conducted for the first time in about nine years since 2017, is the only nationwide professional survey in the dance field targeting professional dancers, aspiring artists, and dance companies. It was established to comprehensively grasp changes in the dance art scene and policy needs.

This survey will be conducted with the goal of securing more effective on-site data by designing separate questionnaire items reflecting the characteristics of each target group, including professional dancers, aspiring artists, and dance companies.

A representative of the Professional Dancer Support Center, who spoke to this newspaper by phone, stated, "Starting with the kick-off report meeting, we will sequentially proceed with survey design and expert advisory meetings, and thereafter, through on-site surveys and monitoring, we plan to comprehensively grasp the activity status and policy needs of professional dancers and aspiring artists."
