The conflict between SM and JYJ is over
The conflict between SM Entertainment and JYJ over their exclusive contract has been resolved. It’s been three years and four months since the dispute began.
On November 28, it was reported that SM Entertainment and JYJ recently decided to agree that their contract was terminated as of July 31, 2009. They also decided to withdraw all suits filed against each other and came to an agreement that they won’t interfere in each other’s work. JYJ can now work freely without interference from SM Entertainment.
TVXQ now consists of only two members, Yunho and Changmin. Jun Su, Jae Joong, and Yoo Chun are now members of JYJ, which was formed in September 2010. Both TVXQ and JYJ are popular at home and abroad.
Since SM Entertainment and JYJ have come to an agreement, there’s no possibility for the five members to get together again. TVXQ and JYJ are no longer involved in a dispute.
Having debuted in 2004 as members of TVXQ, Jun Su, Jae Joong, and Yoo Chun submitted an application to terminate the validity of their contract with SM as of July 31, 2009. They formed the new group JYJ in September 2010 and had been embroiled in a legal battle with SM Entertainment ever since.
