HUI (HUI) takes the musical stage as legendary Hollywood actor James Dean.

HUI will portray James Dean in the musical 'James Byron Dean: The Original,' which opens on September 15 at Dream4 Hall, Seoul Jongno-gu Link Art Center. The production will run through October 18 at the same venue.

According to officials, 'James Byron Dean: The Original' is a creative musical that reconstructs the final five minutes of legendary Hollywood actor James Dean's life. Beyond merely depicting those last moments before his death, the show delves into the star's loneliness and pain, as well as his deep longing to be loved, according to the officials.

Selected as one of this year's new works at the 2025 Performing Arts Creation Hub, the production has strengthened its quality with the addition of director Jang Woo-seong and choreographer Na Kyung-ho.

In the play, HUI plans to portray James Dean—a symbol of rebellion and youth, and a representative icon of his generation—through his own unique personality and charm. He is particularly determined to delicately express everything from the rebellious image of 24-year-old James Dean to his free-spirited and fresh-faced appearance.

HUI has received critical acclaim for his performances in musicals such as 'Madness Sonata,' 'The Three Musketeers,' 'Bloody Love,' and 'Love in the Rain.'

This year, HUI has been releasing new songs across all four seasons, showcasing a diverse spectrum as a solo artist. In April, he released the warm-toned track 'To My Tomorrow,' and in July, his summer song 'BINGO' earned praise from listeners.
